Toronto fans of Lil Wayne were met with disappointment this week after his scheduled concert at the Budweiser Stage was postponed just an hour before showtime. The venue announced on its social media, citing an “unforeseen illness” as the reason for the last-minute cancellation.
A large number of fans had already arrived at the venue when the news broke. According to the venue’s statement, all previously purchased tickets will be honored for a new date, which has yet to be announced. The post reassured fans that Lil Wayne “loves putting on nothing short of the best performances” for them.
This marks the second time this year that a performance by the rapper has been canceled in Toronto, following the postponement of a hip-hop festival in June where he was also scheduled to perform.
