The already tense legal battle between Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and his ex-girlfriend Ayesha Howard has escalated, with Howard now demanding $500,000 and a public apology as part of their ongoing custody fight.

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Howard’s latest filing in Los Angeles Superior Court on August 6 seeks both monetary damages and a formal statement from Edwards addressing what she calls “false and defamatory or misleading statements” about her character.

The dispute centers on the custody of their daughter, Aubri. Records show that a custody agreement ordered by a judge in May has yet to be signed by Howard. Earlier drafts of the agreement reportedly included Edwards’ push for a non-disparagement clause and restrictions on sharing photos of their child on socials, terms that Howard’s legal team opposed.

Edwards’ attorneys claim Howard is now demanding he post an apology “on all of his official social media platforms,” retract the statements in question, and “affirm her integrity and her role as a mother.” In addition, she is requesting $500,000 in damages. Edwards has argued the drawn-out conflict is increasing his legal expenses, while Howard disputes his characterization.

“I want to make it clear that my request for compensation was never tied to agreeing to any custody orders,” Howard told Us Weekly. “I asked for compensation due to the substantial financial and reputational damages I’ve endured during this prolonged litigation with Anthony Edwards.”

The case has been marked by repeated clashes between the two, with accusations on both sides of stalling the process. Whether the pair can reach common ground remains uncertain as the legal tensions continue.
