Sean Gathright, one of the four men convicted in killing Foolio, was told by cops he’s the reason the entire group was caught just before being thrown on the floor in newly-released footage from his 2024 arrest.
On Thursday (Aug. 20), footage from Sean being held at the police station on July 27, 2024 went viral on social media. In one clip, a cop can be heard telling Sean that he brought his whole group down by essentially being sloppy.
“Just so you know, man, and I’m trying to insult you or nothing like that, but you brought the whole group down,” the officer says in the video. “You made way too many f**king mistakes, man. You brought the whole group down. Your prints, your phone, you got the gun, the casings. Bro, you brought this whole f**king group down.”
In another clip, Sean gets manhandled by four officers after trying to break through the ceiling while he was alone in the room and then refusing to sit down when officers entered and told him to stop.
In June, Sean alongside Isaiah Chance, Davion Murphy and Rashad Murphy were each sentenced to life behind bars for their roles in the June 2024 killing of Foolio. Before their fate was handed down, three of the four men spoke, sharing messages to the judge and the community.
After both Gathright’s mother and grandmother made a plea for their family member’s second chance, Gathright talked as well, making the case that his privileged upbringing worked against him and that it’s unfair to be judged for his actions before his brain has fully developed.
In May, the four men were convicted of the murder of Foolio, who was ambushed and shot and killed in a hotel parking lot in Tampa in the summer of 2024. A fifth person charged in the case, Alicia Andrews, was found guilty of manslaughter in 2025. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison last month. Prosecutors say the killing was part of an ongoing gang feud in Jacksonville, Fla.
Ultimately, Judge Michelle Sisco sentenced all four men to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder conviction. They were also sentenced to additional time for additional charges to run concurrently.
