The Source |Tekashi 6ix9ine Pleads Guilty To Federal Drug Charges Following Raid On Miami Home

Tekashi 6ix9ine is once again facing serious legal heat. The controversial rapper pleaded guilty this week to federal drug charges after a March raid on his Miami home uncovered cocaine and MDMA; violations of the strict terms of his probation stemming from his 2018 federal racketeering case tied to the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

The “Trollz” artist, born Daniel Hernandez, appeared in court Wednesday and formally admitted to the charges. Prosecutors allege that during the raid, law enforcement seized multiple illegal substances, which directly violated the conditions of his supervised release. Initially pleading not guilty, 6ix9ine’s decision to reverse course now places his future in the hands of a federal judge, with sentencing scheduled for September.

This latest chapter adds to an already turbulent legal history for 6ix9ine, whose cooperation with federal prosecutors in 2019 helped him avoid a much lengthier sentence. He was released early in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and had been under supervised release ever since.

The new drug charges could complicate his status moving forward, especially considering his probation terms were meant to keep him out of further criminal activity. With this latest guilty plea, Tekashi now awaits a sentencing that could once again reshape the trajectory of his already volatile career.
