AJ Snow and Sledgren Serve Up Luxury and Ambition on Smelling Like Succes – Album Review

Rapper AJ Snow closes out 2025 with their latest release, Smelling Like Success, the follow-up to God Don’t Like Ugly. The album is entirely produced by Sledgren, whose signature beats provide a cohesive and dynamic backdrop for AJ Snow’s storytelling.

The album kicks off with “Exquisite Taste Buds,” which sets the tone with themes of hard work, overcoming life’s challenges, and achieving success, wrapping up with a reflection on financial ambition.

Next, “Who Is That?” featuring EDF and Quiet Money Dot explores success, luxury, and street credibility. “Champagne & Cars” continues the theme of celebration, highlighting a life of luxury with high-end vehicles and champagne toasts.

“Never Bend” dives into the pursuit of financial success, exploring the loneliness that often comes with reaching the top, while reflecting on loyalty, hard work, and past struggles. “Leanin’ on My Whip,” featuring Stixx, emphasizes authenticity and enjoying the luxurious life AJ Snow has earned.

“Broadway Cuisine,” featuring JAMS The Flava Child, touches on street ambition, financial success, and independence, using “Broadway cuisine” as a recurring metaphor for a certain lifestyle. The album closes with “Having My Way,” a track that celebrates success achieved through determination and perseverance.

Overall, Smelling Like Success showcases AJ Snow’s journey through ambition, luxury, and the rewards of hard work, with Sledgren’s production tying it all together to create a polished, confident, and memorable project.

Album Rating 9/10
