Grieves – Loe Kee Phlicks

On Saturday, March 7th, Grieves brought The Old Cold Tour Part 4 to Venice, Los Angeles, for a memorable night of independent hip-hop. Joining him on the lineup were veteran emcee Blueprint and rising artist Benz Shelton. Fans gathered in the Venice area, often known as Dogtown, for an intimate show that celebrated lyricism, energy, and connection between artists and the crowd.

The night started with Benz Shelton, who helped get the crowd warmed up early. As one of the newer artists on the bill, Shelton brought strong energy to the stage and immediately got the audience involved. The performance helped set the tone for the rest of the night, building excitement as more fans packed into the venue.

Next up was Blueprint, a respected emcee from Columbus, Ohio who has been part of the underground hip-hop scene for many years. Blueprint delivered a solid performance filled with songs from his long catalog. His stage presence and storytelling connected well with the crowd. Between songs, he shared a few thoughts about his journey in music and showed appreciation for the fans who continue to support independent hip-hop.

Blueprint

When it was time for Grieves to take the stage, the energy in the room reached another level. The Seattle rapper delivered an intimate and powerful set that kept fans engaged from beginning to end. Throughout the performance, Grieves played songs from different points in his career, giving longtime listeners a chance to hear some of their favorite tracks live.

In addition to performing familiar songs, Grieves also previewed new music for the audience. Moments like this made the show feel special for those in attendance, as fans were able to experience unreleased material before it officially drops.

Grieves has been part of the hip-hop scene for nearly twenty years. After gaining attention in the late 2000s, he went on to join the independent label Rhymesayers Entertainment, where he helped build a strong fanbase through honest lyrics and consistent touring. His music often blends personal stories with catchy melodies, which has helped him connect with listeners across different generations of hip-hop fans.

Benz Shelton

The Venice stop on The Old Cold Tour Part 4 showed why live performances are such an important part of the culture. Each artist on the lineup brought something unique to the stage, creating a night that felt both personal and exciting.

By the end of the show, the crowd had experienced a full evening of music, stories, and real connection between artists and fans. From the opening energy of Benz Shelton, to the seasoned presence of Blueprint, and the powerful closing set from Grieves, the night was a strong reminder of the passion that drives independent hip-hop.

For the fans who were there in Dogtown, it was more than just another concert—it was a night they won’t forget anytime soon.
