NBA 2K26 is leveling up player customization with a revamped MyPLAYER Builder, revealed today by Visual Concepts and Tyrese Haliburton. Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, the new system offers more profound insights, enhanced control, and a streamlined creation experience for both new and veteran players.
“Getting your MyPLAYER attuned to your playstyle is the cornerstone of the NBA 2K experience,” said Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at Visual Concepts. “This year’s Builder gives players deeper insights at every step. We’ve introduced tools like the new Animation Glossary and Scouting Report so players can know the strengths and limitations of their build from the very beginning.”
The redesigned builder includes an Animation Glossary that details every move’s requirements, helping players better understand which animations suit their style. Pre-assigned signature animations make it easier to model a build after real-life pros. In contrast, the Build By Badges feature lets users select desired badge levels first and allocate points accordingly.
At the final stage of creation, the all-new Scouting Report breaks down a build’s strengths, weaknesses, key badges, and attributes. Players can now also choose Build Specialization goals to focus on Finishing, Shooting, Playmaking, Defense, or Rebounding. Each specialization comes with nine objectives and skill-based rewards.
Badge Perks return with new tiers like Max +2, and in-game boosts can be triggered through Takeover Surge, Hot Start, and Clutch Genes. Cap Breakers have been upgraded as well, now offering bigger attribute increases depending on where players apply them.
With more customization tools than ever before, NBA 2K26 empowers users to create builds that truly match their playstyle. For full details, including updates to Rebirth and MyPLAYER Templates, visit the Courtside Report on the NBA 2K26 website.
