The Bronx, New York rapper, occasional producer & illustrator S. Mesa continues the Slug Boys Entertainment’s ongoing Slug Singles series with quite possibly the best installment so far: “The Anvil”. From the drumlessly soulful Mike Shabb instrumental to the lyrics detailing S. Mesa’s own personal experiences with growth as well as turmoil & conviction within the military, it could also be my favorite song in the latter’s entire discography capturing how far he’s come since the Twin Parks West tape.
