Teyana Taylor is reportedly required to pay her ex-husband, former NBA player Iman Shumpert, $70,000 after a contempt of court ruling. According to Us Weekly, the couple attended a hearing on July 25 after each accused the other of violating their divorce settlement.
A judge ruled in favor of Shumpert, who cited an Instagram video posted by Taylor in March in which she addressed reports surrounding their divorce. The court determined that Taylor must pay the sum to Shumpert’s lawyer to cover his legal fees.
The judge says Taylor did not “present sufficient evidence” for her case, which also saw Shumpert seeking a 20-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine for her. The award will instead cover Shumpert’s jail fees.
