The wait is over. Verzuz is officially back, and it’s bringing two of New Orleans’ biggest rap empires to the same stage. The culture-shifting series returns on October 25, 2025, live from ComplexCon Las Vegas, with Cash Money Recordsgoing head-to-head against No Limit Records in what’s already being hailed as a landmark moment for Southern hip hop.

Complex announced the event with a statement fitting for its magnitude: “One stage. Two legendary labels. History in the making.” This marks the first Verzuz battle in more than three years, following the unforgettable Omarion vs Mario matchup in 2022. Fans have been demanding its return ever since and the organizers chose a heavyweight showdown to reignite the movement.

Both Cash Money and No Limit emerged from the streets of New Orleans in the 1990s, each building dynasties that redefined independent hustle, business ownership, and musical dominance.

Representing Cash Money, Birdman and Slim’s label turned talent into an empire, introducing icons like Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Juvenile, and B.G. Their formula of polished visuals, signature bounce-inspired beats, and flashy confidence helped reshape hip hop into a global force.

Across the city, Master P’s No Limit Records built a different kind of power, where one rooted in relentless independence and community-driven business. The label produced breakout stars such as Silkk the Shocker, C-Murder, Mia X, TRU, and Mystikal, selling more than 100 million records while changing how artists approached ownership and self-branding.

Now, decades later, the two labels that helped define Southern rap’s golden era will share a stage once again and not just as rivals, but as architects of an entire cultural legacy.

Verzuz: Cash Money vs No Limit is shaping up to be more than a battle. It’s a celebration of grind, innovation, and the city that birthed two of hip hop’s greatest dynasties.
