Luxury Summerz Declares ‘I’m Fully Independent’ in 2026 (Album Review)

Coming off a prolific 2025 that saw an EP and three singles, Luxury Summerz wastes no time getting 2026 started right with his new seven-track offering via Demand Money Records, I’m Fully Independent. A potent dose of unfiltered, vintage East Coast hip-hop distilled through the lens of a Brooklyn native currently holding court in Norfolk, VA. The project feels like a perfectly timed building directly on last year’s momentum, crafting a cohesive body of work that sets a tone for what is anticipated to be his biggest year yet. The project’s power is amplified by its cohesive beat selection sutied for Summerz’s style and delivery. This synergy proves that the classic sound, when executed with this level of focused conviction, remains a powerful way to make a definitive opening statement for the new year.

Two tracks perfectly encapsulate the project’s dual strengths and its role as a formidable first step in 2026. “Million In The Way” is pure, sample-driven alchemy, where Summerz unloads on his opps self proclaming himself as the underground rap god. His bars are direct and weathered, matching the track’s raw, timeless feel. Conversely, “Draft Pick” is the project’s explosive anthem and outro, built on an intense beat that demands attention and signals Summerz’s readiness to shine as a fully indie artist. Here, he flexes his technical rhyme skills with agile, confident flows, positioning himself as a first-round selection. Together, these highlights showcase an artist honing his craft and doubling down on his signature sound.

Earning a solid rating of 7/10,. I’m Fully Independent makes a solid case for the hype, suggesting Summerz’s 2026 is off to a strong start.
