D4vd’s music promotion and tour plans unraveled as LAPD searched his home following the discovery of a teen girl’s remains in his Tesla.

D4vd had his upcoming album rollout frozen and tour dates disrupted as police continue investigating the gruesome discovery of a 15-year-old girl’s dismembered body found inside a Tesla registered to him.

On Wednesday night (September 17), Los Angeles police executed a search warrant at the 20-year-old singer’s residence, combing the property for blood evidence and other materials tied to the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, according to TMZ.

Her remains were discovered on September 8 in a Tesla Model 3 parked near the home where D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, had been living.

In response to the ongoing homicide investigation, Interscope Records has suspended all promotional activity for the artist, according to sources cited by the outlet.

The move also affects his deluxe album Withered: Marcescence, which was slated for release on Friday (September 19).

Universal Music Group, Sony Music Publishing and Wasserman have also paused their involvement with D4vd amid the investigation.

D4vd’s Album Release Date Halted

The timing of D4vd’s last Instagram post, dated September 7, has drawn scrutiny.

The post, promoting the now-delayed album, read: “Withered Deluxe: Marcescence OUT SEPTEMBER 19TH!!!”

That date would have marked what would have been Rivas’ 16th birthday.

Video obtained by TMZ shows D4vd and Rivas together on a livestream in January 2024, with Rivas encouraging him to interact with viewers.

Her mother told investigators that Rivas had spoken about dating someone named David. Observers also pointed out that both had matching “Shhh” tattoos.

The investigation has already impacted D4vd’s “Withered” world tour. His show in Seattle on Wednesday was canceled after authorities confirmed the identity of the victim.

His Saturday performance at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles remains on the schedule, but the status of Friday’s San Francisco concert is uncertain.

D4vd has not issued any public statement regarding the case. The New York native, who relocated to Houston before launching his career, rose to fame through lo-fi bedroom pop and alternative R&B tracks recorded on his phone.

The LAPD has not named any suspects as of Thursday (September 19).
