Erica Banks is facing a theft by receiving stolen property charge after authorities said she had a stolen gun at the Atlanta airport. The warrant states she was flying from Atlanta to Houston on Wednesday with the weapon inside her small Louis Vuitton bag.
At a security checkpoint, the gun was flagged and later determined to have been stolen from Greenville, South Carolina. Erica was booked into the Clayton County Jail at 9:50 p.m. and released at 11:12 p.m.
Her attorney stated WSB-TV claimed she did not know that the gun was stolen. “She is not guilty of any offense. Once we get to court, my job is to make sure this never becomes part of her criminal history and to have these charges dismissed,” the statement read.
