Gervonta Davis’ domestic violence case has been officially dropped, according to TMZ Sports. The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office stated, “This case was dropped as the victim is declining to prosecute per her victim attorney, Lindsey Chase, Esq., and her sentiments were directly confirmed by the Assistant State Attorney handling the prosecution.”

The alleged victim’s mother — who was listed as a witness — also refused to cooperate. Prosecutors said she failed to appear for a prefile conference on Thursday, August 7, despite being subpoenaed, and follow-up phone calls went unanswered. Officials added that the responding police officer did not witness the incident, removing him as a potential witness as well.

The case’s dismissal comes nearly two months after the star boxer was accused of assaulting the mother of his two children. Davis was jailed on July 11 after the alleged victim told Doral Police he became physical with her during a Father’s Day dispute in June. She claimed Davis struck her in the back of the head while he was picking up his children, and slapped her on the right side of her face when she tried to retrieve her daughter from the back seat. According to police, she suffered a minor laceration on the inside of her lip.

No further details on the decision have been released, and Davis has yet to make a public statement on the matter.
