MVP’S Quebec Standout Tamara Thibeault Set To Face Italian Rising Star Cristina Mazzotta At MVP 15 Championship Edition

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) has announced that Canadian Olympian and top-ranked middleweight contender Tammara Thibeault (3-0, 2 KOs) will return to the ring on Saturday, September 27, facing Italy’s Cristina Mazzotta (1-0) in the co-main event of Most Valuable Prospects 15: Championship Edition. The six-round bout will take place at Théâtre St-Denis in Montreal and stream live globally on DAZN.

Thibeault, ranked No. 1 by both the IBF and WBA, has quickly established herself as one of the fastest-rising fighters in the division. A two-time Olympian and gold medalist at the Amateur World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and Pan Am Games, the 28-year-old Quebec native has brought her amateur pedigree seamlessly into the pro ranks. Her most recent victory came against Mary Casamassa, earning her top contender status with the IBF and WBA.

“Cristina Mazzotta is incredibly talented, and I’m looking forward to a competitive fight that will push me to perform at my very best,” said Thibeault. “This co-main event is a chance to represent Quebec with pride and take another step toward a world title. The support from my hometown is incredibly meaningful, and I want to deliver a performance that the fans will never forget on Saturday, September 27.”

Mazzotta, representing Italy’s historic Pugilistica Rodio Brindisi gym, made her professional debut this past July with a win over Ester Konecna. The 2018 Italian National Championship silver medalist is considered one of her country’s top rising prospects.

“I’ve been training long and hard to display my skills on a big platform,” said Mazzotta. “MVP is doing big things in women’s boxing and I’m happy to get this opportunity on their event. My opponent is very good but I am confident in what I bring to the table.”

MVP co-founders Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul praised Thibeault’s rapid ascent, calling her “a phenomenal athlete whose meteoric rise and world-class talent set the standard for the next generation of boxing.” They added that her fight with Mazzotta “pits one of Quebec’s finest athletes against one of Italy’s most promising talents,” promising an electric night of boxing in Montreal.
