Teyana Taylor has been hit with a court order requiring her to pay $70,000 to her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, after a judge found her in contempt during their ongoing divorce battle. The decision came following a July 25 hearing and marks another tense turn in a split that continues to draw public attention.

Contempt is no joke.

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, both Taylor and Shumpert accused each other of violating the confidentiality terms in their divorce settlement. Shumpert alleged that Taylor broke the agreement when she posted a video on the Gram in March addressing media coverage of their separation. The settlement barred either party from publicly revealing details of the judgment.

Get this, the judge sided with Shumpert, ruling that Taylor was in “willful contempt” of the Final Judgment and Decree of Divorce. The $70,000 will cover his legal fees. Shumpert had initially asked for a $1,000 fine and 20 days in jail, but the court opted for the financial penalty instead.

But wait, Taylor’s legal team argued that Shumpert had also shared confidential information with the press, but the court rejected the claim due to lack of evidence. The ruling also criticized her attorneys for not conducting enough due diligence before filing their contempt motion, noting the arguments were not strongly supported by facts.
