Jeezy’s recent stop in Baltimore almost didn’t happen until a quick-thinking Uber driver named Tanner stepped up in a major way.

The Snowman took to social media to share the full story behind his dramatic journey to make it to his Jeezy Presents TM: 101 Live tour stop in the city. He explained that he woke up to find that all flights to Baltimore and D.C. had been canceled due to severe weather, putting the entire show at risk.

With no flights available, Jeezy’s team pivoted fast and arranged for a driver to take him by car. But just two hours into the drive, they ran into trouble after hitting an object on the highway that punctured their gas tank. Stranded at a small gas station in South Carolina, they scrambled for backup options.

Efforts to secure a private jet were quickly shut down by continued weather concerns. That’s when the idea came to try Uber. A car was called to take them to a rental location, but as soon as the driver arrived, Jeezy had a bigger ask.

“I said, ‘Hey, we need to go to Baltimore,’” Jeezy recalled. “I asked how much he’d charge… he replied, ‘Let me think about it.’ I assured him whatever it was, he’d have it.”

Without missing a beat, Tanner accepted the challenge. Ten hours later, they rolled into Baltimore just ten minutes before Jeezy was due on stage.

As a show of gratitude, Jeezy gifted his driver a Snowman T-shirt and brought him inside the venue as his personal guest.

“Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner,” Jeezy wrote. “Not all heroes wear capes.”
