Following a devastating weekend of gun violence in Atlanta that left 49 people affected, Quavo and his Rocket Foundation have announced the launch of an emergency trauma therapy fund to support youth and families in urgent need of mental health services.

In a press release, the Rocket Foundation confirmed that two of the victims had direct ties to the organization—18-year-old Rocket camper Deshawn Johnson and Offender Alumni Association leader Aaron “Coach Ball” Hines both lost their lives. The loss has prompted the foundation to take swift action in providing resources for healing and prevention.

The new fund will deliver trauma-informed therapeutic services through partnerships with two community-based groups: HOPE Hustlers and the Offender Alumni Association. Both organizations are deeply involved in violence intervention and mentorship in Atlanta’s most affected neighborhoods.

“The Rocket Foundation is committed to providing real-time support for the mental health needs of impacted families and youth,” the statement reads. “This fund will offer expert therapeutic services for children and families while supporting grantee organizations, HOPE Hustlers and Offender Alumni, who are leading frontline efforts to break the cycle of violence and provide lasting mentorship in their communities.”

Supporters who want to contribute can donate to the cause [here].
