Drake and PartyNextDoor just dropped a collection of 19 music videos for their track “Somebody Loves Me,” each one crafted by fans who answered the call to a global contest earlier this year.

This contest was a groundbreaking engagement avenue with the entire creative community. Those who participated in the contest took advantage of a democratized forum which connected 19 visionary concepts with one of the biggest artists in the world. That’s the definition of innovation meeting community.

It’s important to note, Drake (and maybe PARTYNEXTDOOR as well) financed the videos with a budget of $15K to each creator. Now we have to admit some of these videos look like they were a bit more expensive but creators who know how to leverage their resources could have made the video work within the confines of Drake’s awarded budget.

The winners videos were posted on drakerelated.com/videos.

Back to the competition. It was organized with the help of streamer Kai Cenat, invited filmmakers from different backgrounds to submit their vision for the song. Out of the hundreds of submissions, the duo highlighted a wide spectrum of creativity, mixing polished work from established directors like Aaron Ricketts and Justice Silvera with fresh takes from first-time creators.

As of now, 19 of those winning videos have gone live. Here are all of the videos posted to date:

“Our finalists represent a diverse range of experience levels, as we were committed to giving new and emerging directors – including a few first-time directors – the opportunity to showcase their talent,” the site explained.

“Somebody Loves Me” appears as the sixteenth track on Drake and PartyNextDoor’s joint album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. Written by the duo and produced by DJ Lewis, O Lil Angel, and Wondra030, the record dropped on February 14, 2025, through Santa Anna Label Group, OVO Sound, and Republic Records. It climbed to a peak of No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.

This was just a dope idea, well executed and shows that some artists, the legends, actually engage with their fans, while most just preach about it.
