Ye is making moves in the real estate game again, this time listing his Calabasas condo for $3 million as speculation swirls about the state of his finances.
Listen, we don’t know what’s up with Ye’s pockets. He can be sitting on hundreds of millions for all we know. But people talk …
Get this, according to AllHipHop, Ye is trying to offload the luxury property he acquired after his split from Kim Kardashian in 2022. The three-bedroom, four-bath space was designed by acclaimed Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen and has racked up more than $60,000 in unpaid property taxes. That debt is just a portion of what county records claim is over $300,000 in unpaid taxes across Ye’s broader real estate holdings.
The unproven financial chatter follows a string of turbulent years for the artist. Multiple brands and former business partners have cut ties with Ye over public controversies, including antisemitic remarks and inflammatory content shared on socials. His most recent international concert in Shanghai was hit by technical problems, leading fans to ask for refunds.
Still, Ye’s team stood firm, releasing a statement defending the timing of the performance and clarifying what went wrong.
“To ensure the quality of the performance, Ye arrived at the stadium before 3:00 P.M. on July 12 (with surveillance footage available as evidence). The concert was originally scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM, but due to on-site equipment issues, troubleshooting and adjustments continued until 8:00 PM and still failed to reach optimal condition. Out of respect for the audience’s passion and anticipation, Ye made the decision to go on stage and perform despite the imperfect setup. Therefore, claims of Ye being late are entirely untrue.”
On top of that, fans are still waiting for Ye’s long-teased studio project, Bully. Originally slated for a July 25 drop, the release has been bumped to September 26. Earlier this year, he teased the vision behind the album with a short film created in collaboration with Hype Williams.
Oh snap, Hype? That sounds interesting.
