YG teams up with Leon Thomas for “Lovers & Friends,” a smooth, funk-inspired single from his upcoming album The Gentleman’s Club, arriving October 3.

Multi-platinum rapper YG continues building momentum for his upcoming album The Gentleman’s Club with the release of his new single “Lovers & Friends,” featuring singer-songwriter Leon Thomas. Produced by Ty Dolla $ign, the track offers a laid-back, funk-inspired sound that perfectly captures the vibe of a West Coast summer.

“Lovers & Friends” explores the emotional gray areas of modern relationships, with Leon Thomas delivering a hook that asks, “Are we lovers or are we friends?” while YG’s verses reflect the uncertainty and desire to define a complicated connection.

The official music video, shot in sleek black and white, leans into the polished aesthetic introduced in previous singles “Hollywood” and “2004.” With sharp suits, smooth choreography, and a live band performance, the visuals blend R&B nostalgia with a contemporary edge. In a surprise twist, the video ends with YG’s love interest being greeted by another man, leaving the viewer wondering what the relationship really was.

The Gentleman’s Club is set for release on October 3.
