On Tuesday, July 29th, Del the Funky Homosapien, Kid Koala, and Dan the Automator invaded Los Angeles at The Bellwether to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their groundbreaking album, Deltron 3030.

Opening the night Kyle Rapps, who set the tone with a charged and lyrical performance that warmed the crowd up for what was to come.

Released in the year 2000, Deltron 3030 wasn’t just an album—it was a full-blown sci-fi hip-hop opera that changed the landscape of alternative rap. Set in a dystopian future, the record introduced fans to the persona of Deltron Zero (Del), a rebel MC battling corporate tyranny and mindless conformity in the year 3030. With cinematic production from Dan the Automator and razor-sharp cuts by Kid Koala, the album blended Afrofuturism, battle rhymes, and deep social commentary into a cult classic that still resonates 25 years later.

From iconic tracks like “3030” and “Virus” to deep cuts like “Turbulence (Remix)”, the performance at The Bellwether reminded longtime fans why this project remains a cornerstone of underground hip-hop. The energy in the room proved that Deltron 3030 isn’t just a relic of the past—it’s a prophetic soundtrack that still hits hard in today’s world.
