2K has officially revealed major gameplay enhancements for NBA 2K26, highlighting a leap in realism, control, and strategy across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. At the core of these upgrades is the evolution of ProPLAY, which now powers an all-new Dynamic Motion Engine designed to make player movement feel more lifelike than ever.
New features include enhanced Rhythm Shooting, giving players complete control of their shots with greater responsiveness and realism. On offense, users can mix and match custom layup styles, deploy advanced post moves, and experience more deliberate gameplay with revamped controls like Quick Protect and no-dip catch-and-shoots.
Defensively, NBA 2K26 introduces redesigned Interior Defense and more accurate player collisions, offering a more physical and strategic in-game experience. AI sees a boost as well, now adjusting to user strategies with smarter offensive sets and better defensive reads.
Gameplay Director Mike Wang and NBA All-Star Tyrese Haliburton break it all down in the debut Courtside Report. NBA 2K26 launches later this year.
