Rick Ross performed for a Republican crowd at a DC Halloween party despite previously blasting Trump’s presidency as “delusional.”

Rick Ross brought Hip-Hop swagger to a Halloween party packed with conservative elites in Washington, DC, performing at the Cruel Kids Halloween event inside Saint Yves nightclub on Saturday night (November 1).

The Miami rapper, known for hits like “Hustlin’” and “B.M.F.,” took the stage in front of more than 600 attendees, many of whom openly support former President Donald Trump—despite Ross’s own history of criticizing him.

The event, organized by CJ Pearson, a former co-chair of the Republican National Committee’s youth advisory board, drew a crowd that stretched from early 20-somethings to mid-40s.

“We’re not just Making America Great Again. We’re making the Republican Party COOL again,” Pearson posted on social media after the event.

While the crowd leaned red, the vibe was anything but buttoned-up. According to Daily Mail, Will Scharf, 39, who serves as White House Staff Secretary, was seen in a neon construction vest labeled “Ballroom Construction Team,” dancing through VIP sections and accidentally toppling a table of drinks.

Costumes played with political satire. Attendees dressed as ICE agents, government shutdowns and even House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries—a look Pearson himself wore. Designer Andre Soriano showed up with a cardboard cutout of Trump and a bag of rice, calling his outfit “SNAP and EBT.”

The party leaned into Trump nostalgia, serving McDonald’s burgers and fries in a nod to the former president’s fast-food preferences. Attendees also received red “Cruel Kids Halloween” hats styled after MAGA caps.

Rick Ross Criticizes Donald Trump

Ross’s performance raised eyebrows, given his previous public remarks about Trump.

In 2017, he rapped, “I’m happy that Donald Trump became the president because we have to destroy it to elevate.” In 2024, he dismissed the idea that Trump’s presidency was good for people’s wallets, calling that belief “delusional.”

“We will start over after this,” Ross said in an interview that same year. “I think that particular line, a lot of young brothers who haven’t really put a finger on how they feel about our new president, I think they needed to hear that line to get some form of understanding.”
