Diddy has filed a First Amended Complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Courtney Burgess, Ariel Mitchell, and Nexstar Media Inc.’s NewsNation. The filing alleges a deliberate scheme to fabricate and broadcast false claims, including fabricated videos of sexual assaults, a police report supporting false rape allegations, and secret recordings used for extortion.
According to the complaint, attorney Ariel Mitchell, recently named in a Florida Bar complaint for allegedly bribing a witness, repeated fabricated accusations on national television. She allegedly claimed a police report corroborated allegations that Diddy raped a woman in March 2018. The filing states no such report exists and that the actual report accused two white men, with police deeming those allegations unsubstantiated.
The suit further claims NewsNation aired these statements despite knowing or recklessly ignoring their falsity. Combs is seeking no less than $100 million in damages for the alleged harm to his reputation.
