Los Angeles beat heads and soulful hip-hop fans, take note. Tall Black Guy is bringing the 10th Anniversary celebration of Let’s Take a Trip to The Regent Theater in Downtown LA for a special Wednesday night showcase. The show goes down on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, with doors opening at 7:00 PM and the performance starting at 8:00 PM. This is an 18+ only event, so leave the young ones at home and get ready for a grown-and-sophisticated night of beats. The Regent Theater is located at 448 S. Main St. in the historic core of Downtown Los Angeles . Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster and the venue’s official site—don’t wait to secure your spot for this intimate anniversary celebration.

Detroit-born, UK-based producer Terrel Wallace—known to the world as Tall Black Guy—has long been one of indie hip-hop’s best-kept secrets, and Let’s Take a Trip is his masterstroke . Released in 2016, the album was conceived as a literal and metaphorical journey, inspired by a vivid dream of hanging from a moving train and shaped by the mundane commute to a job he hated, the loss of a close cousin, and the weight of watching racial tension unfold in the US from across the Atlantic . The result is a lush, sample-rich fusion of hip-hop, soul, jazz, and funk, anchored by the warm glow of Rhodes piano and collaborations with artists like Moonchild, Diggs Duke, Ozay Moore, and Masego . Bandcamp praised it as “another success for one of indie rap’s best-kept secrets,” while Okayplayer highlighted its emotional depth and hopeful vibe . A decade later, the album still sounds like a warm, soulful escape—and this Regent Theater date is the perfect way to honor its enduring legacy.
