Diddy is fighting back hard against one of his accusers, Courtney Burgess, and TV network NewsNation for airing allegations of sexual assault against him. Earlier this year, Diddy filed a $50 million lawsuit against Burgess. Now, he’s amending that suit to include NewsNation, seeking up to $100 million in additional damages, claiming the accusations have caused him “severe reputational harm.”
The lawsuit calls out Burgess and his attorney Mitchell for spreading “wild lies and conspiracy theories,” saying they are “among the worst perpetrators” in what Diddy describes as a “pitiful spectacle” that has abandoned any pretense of objectivity and turned into a media circus.
Back in October 2024, Burgess, alongside his lawyer, alleged possession of videos showing Diddy committing sexual assault, including disturbing claims involving minors. So far, Burgess, his attorney, and NewsNation have not responded to the defamation suit.
Meanwhile, Diddy remains behind bars as he awaits sentencing in October. While he was acquitted of the most serious charges, sex trafficking and racketeering, he was convicted on lesser counts related to transportation for prostitution during last month’s high-profile trial.
Since then, Diddy’s attempts to secure bail have been repeatedly denied by the judge, who cited the lack of “exceptional” reasons for release and referenced Diddy’s history of domestic violence as part of the decision.
