Mel Murda, also known as Mel Matrix, has been released after serving a six-year sentence tied to the Nine Trey Gangsters RICO case that involved Tekashi 6ix9ine. The case, which drew national attention, saw 6ix9ine cooperate with authorities while several of his alleged associates, including Mel Murda, faced prison time.

Upon his release, Mel Murda was greeted on the streets of New York City by Jim Jones, who shared the moment on Instagram alongside a song referencing the tumultuous period. “We way different than y’all,” Jones wrote. “We don’t bend, we don’t fold, and if we fall we come back stronger. Welcome back Mel Matrix. You deserve everything the world has to offer. Let’s go get everything they owe you.”

Jim Jones and 6ix9ine have long been positioned as rivals in the New York hip-hop scene, though connections from the Nine Trey Gangsters case continue to surface. While Mel Murda’s return marks a personal milestone, fans are watching closely to see if his release will influence the ongoing dynamics among the city’s rap heavyweights.
