Two of Hollywood’s most dynamic talents, LaKeith Stanfield and Trevante Rhodes, are set to team up in F.A.S.T., the latest action thriller from Taylor Sheridan.
If you’re unfamiliar with Taylor Sheridan, he’s the mastermind behind the Yellowstone franchise, as well as a slew of hit shows on Paramount+.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast also includes Jason Clarke, Sam Claflin, Juliana Canfield, and 1923 star Brandon Sklenar.
The project is penned by Sheridan and directed by Ben Richardson, Sheridan’s go-to collaborator and the main director behind 1923. The story centers on “a former special forces commando, down on his luck after he returns Stateside, who the DEA taps to lead a black op strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers in his town,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
While the exact roles for Stanfield, Rhodes, and the rest of the cast are being kept under wraps, the outlet notes that the ensemble will portray a mix of Delta Force operatives and DEA agents.
Fans of Sheridan’s gritty storytelling can expect the same intensity and raw edge that has defined his past work. Insiders point to Special Ops: Lioness on Paramount+ as the closest point of comparison, where Zoe Saldana plays a CIA operative navigating high-stakes missions while balancing her family life. In contrast, F.A.S.T. looks to cut straight into the action without the personal drama, zeroing in on relentless, military-driven conflict.
On the production side, David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford will produce for Heyday Films, alongside Sheridan and Jenny Wood through Bosque Ranch Productions. Warner Bros. executives Jesse Ehrman, President of Production, and Kevin McCormick, Executive Vice President of Production, will oversee the project.
With a powerhouse creative team and a stacked cast, F.A.S.T. is shaping up to deliver the kind of pulse-pounding action Sheridan fans crave.
