Drake and Adin Ross have pledged to pay for the funeral of French streamer Jean Pormanove after his death during a 10-day live marathon on Kick that allegedly involved abuse and coercion.

The 46-year-old content creator, whose real name was Raphaël Graven, died in his sleep on Monday (August 18) while participating in a prolonged and controversial broadcast known for pushing creators into humiliating and dangerous stunts.

The stream, hosted on Kick, has drawn widespread criticism for promoting harmful behavior under the guise of entertainment.

“I just spoke with Drake,” Ross wrote on X (Twitter). “Drake and I will be covering the funeral costs, this won’t bring his life back, it’s the least we can do. Prayers go out to Jean’s family.”

Ross also condemned the circumstances surrounding the streamer’s death. “This is horrible and disgusting,” he added. “Whoever was apart of this deserves to face severe consequences.”

Clips from the stream circulating online show Pormanove being subjected to disturbing treatment, including being shot with paintballs, choked, forced to ingest unknown substances and deprived of sleep.

French authorities are now investigating whether criminal behavior was involved.

According to reports, Pormanove had messaged his mother during the stream, saying he felt like he was being “held hostage” and was experiencing heart issues.

French digital affairs and AI minister Clara Chappaz called the situation an “absolute horror,” adding, “Jean Pormanove was humiliated and mistreated for months live on the Kick platform.”

The prosecutor’s office in Nice confirmed that both a criminal investigation and a review of the platform’s role are underway.

Meanwhile, Kick said it is “urgently reviewing” its content policies in response to public outrage.

As of Tuesday (August 20), autopsy results have not been released, and authorities have not officially determined whether foul play led to Pormanove’s death.
