On Friday, September 20th, hip-hop legend Cappadonna headlined a high-energy night in celebration of their birthday and an unforgettable open mic event. The evening also marked the recent release of Cappadonna’s latest project, The Angel of Rap: Solar Eclipse, a powerful offering that’s been making serious noise in the underground scene.

Hosting the night was none other than Young Hump of the iconic Digital Underground, who kept the energy flowing between sets with charisma, humor, and a deep love for the culture. His presence added an extra layer of hip-hop history and flavor to an already legendary lineup.
The night was stacked with hip-hop royalty, featuring electrifying performances from lyrical giants like Planet Asia and Ras Kass, who set the stage ablaze with their sharp bars and commanding presence. The open mic segment shined a spotlight on some of L.A.’s finest underground talent, as local spitters took to the stage and rocked the crowd alongside these seasoned veterans.

Together, these rising voices and iconic figures created a dynamic fusion of old-school respect and new-school hunger. It was more than just a birthday celebration—it was a night dedicated to the essence of hip-hop, where community, lyricism, and legacy came together under one roof.
