Gunna launched a new running club in Brooklyn while controversy swirled around Young Thug and the YSL crew.
Gunna kicked off his “Wunna Run Club” on Thursday (August 28) with a clear message: health over headlines.
The rapper is stepping into the fitness world with a new initiative that promotes physical activity and community support, even as his name remains tangled in the ongoing YSL drama.
The club’s first major event, the “WUNNA RUN 5K,” is set for Wednesday (September 3, 2025) at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.
The race is free to enter, with participants encouraged to donate to nonprofits aiding underserved communities.
The event is a collaboration between Gunna’s Atlanta-based charity, Great Giveaway, and race organizer NYCRUNS.
Gunna plans to run the 5K himself alongside his manager, signaling a personal shift toward wellness that’s been visible across social media. TikTok clips and Instagram posts have shown the rapper working out regularly, with users commenting on his leaner frame and healthier lifestyle.
Fans Back Gunna As YSL Controversy Continues
But while Gunna laced up his sneakers, the YSL camp was unraveling. Online chatter exploded after allegations surfaced that Young Thug had cooperated with authorities in a case involving Peewee Roscoe—despite previously branding Gunna a snitch.
The internet didn’t hold back.
“Getting in shape & being healthy > Minding your business > Doing charity work > Putting out better music than anyone talking s### about you >” one user posted.
Another added, “While them other n##### hating and on here having a rat off.”

Even Gunna’s former attorney Steve Sadow weighed in, calling for an end to the back-and-forth.
