RZA Says Rihanna And A$AP Rocky Should Name Their Next Child After Another Wu-Tang Clan Member
Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA has a playful suggestion for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s growing family. Name their next child after another Wu Tang icon.
Speaking with PEOPLE at the Los Angeles premiere of Nobody 2 on Monday, Aug. 11, the legendary rapper, 56, was asked if there’s another Clan member the couple should honor with a baby name. Rihanna, 37, and Rocky famously named their first son, now 3, RZA after the hip hop pioneer.
“You know what? ODB because you know the legend must live on,” RZA said, referring to his late bandmate Ol’ Dirty Bastard. “It’s a great honor to know there’s another generation, not even from my own household, that feels the strength and inspiration of that name.”
RZA may have meant ODB’s more common moniker, which among his peers, ODB is commonly known or referred to as Ason Unique. Maybe that’s what he was going for.
He went on to explain the deeper meaning behind his own moniker. “RZA isn’t only a name, it’s a title. So it’s an honor, and I salute her and A$AP and their family. All the blessings in the world from me.”
Rihanna, who is currently expecting her third child with A$AP Rocky, has already hinted at one consistent tradition when it comes to their baby names. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, she revealed, “It’s always going to be an R name. That’s the one thing me and Rocky don’t fight over.”
