Complex, a leading platform for global youth culture, hosted a dynamic and interactive event during New York Fashion Week that brought together the worlds of high fashion, gaming, and financial empowerment. The exclusive invite-only gathering on Thursday, September 11, at Moonlight Studio in SoHo, showcased a series of boundary-pushing brand collaborations.

A Masterclass in Finance and Fashion

The event kicked off with an intimate conversation featuring actor-rapper Joey Bada$$ and jewelry artist Greg Yuna, hosted by Complex Editor-in-Chief Aria Hughes. As part of Hughes’ “Please Explain” series, the discussion offered insights into entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The conversation served as a preview of Bada$$ and Yuna’s upcoming episodes in Chime’s “Ball on a Budget” financial education series, which aims to prove that money does not always equal style. The event also highlighted a limited-edition merchandise collaboration between Complex and Chime.

Evening Showcase Highlights

The evening portion of the event featured two major showcases that blended creative industries.

Fashion designer Raul Lopez, founder of the celebrity-favorite brand LUAR, presented an interactive installation with the Lexus GX. Lopez’s custom-designed driving gloves and scarf channeled his signature aesthetic, creating an experience that blended luxury automotive design with cutting-edge fashion.

As the evening continued, New York design powerhouse Who Decides War unveiled their highly anticipated collaboration with 2K Gaming for the Borderlands 4 game. The immersive experience included an interactive masked photo booth and a chance for attendees to win the new limited-edition merchandise collection before the game’s official release.

Throughout the day, guests enjoyed a variety of experiences, including signature Lobos cocktails, energetic DJ performances, and sweet treats from Häagen-Dazs. The event successfully created a space where different worlds could collide, sparking meaningful conversations and celebrating innovation across industries.
