While Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense team left the courtroom disappointed following a denied bond request, a dramatic and life-threatening incident during the hearing added an unexpected twist to an already high-stakes legal battle.
On Wednesday, July 2, in a Manhattan federal courtroom, just moments before Judge Arun Subramanian officially denied Diddy’s motion for bond, a medical emergency unfolded. According to eyewitnesses, a man in the gallery suffered a violent seizure and collapsed to the floor. The scene turned critical as he reportedly began convulsing, slamming his head against the marble floor, and vomiting blood.
Marc Agnifilo, Diddy’s lead defense attorney, immediately sprang into action. Despite the pressure of the ongoing case, Agnifilo rushed to the man’s aid without hesitation. “I can’t imagine a busier five-minute period in my life,” he later told the New York Post. “I’m going down to see Combs. Everything was so intense, and my mind was on the case, and I walk out, and a man falls and is clearly seizing. It seemed pretty dire. I was worried about him.”
Courtroom staff called for medical assistance as Agnifilo stayed with the man until help arrived. Though the unidentified individual’s current condition remains undisclosed, those present credit Agnifilo’s quick response for potentially saving a life.
While the legal team may have lost their motion for bail, this act of humanity in a high-tension moment served as a rare pause from the otherwise contentious proceedings that continue to unfold in the federal investigation involving Diddy.
